Evans Cercel Grantham has his name in the “Tablets of the Missing” memorial in Carthage, Tunisia, which honors the US World War II veterans that died in North Africa. He also has a cenotaph memorial in his name in the Clear Branch Cemetery located in Florence, Mississippi that was commissioned by his family. He has received the Purple Heart, which has been given to wounded and killed soldiers by the president since 1932. He also received the Navy Good Conduct Medal, which is given either after 3 years of “good and faithful service”, which can be one year in wartime or can be given to someone who is killed during combat.
